If there’s one thing I can get behind, it’s grainy, out-of-focus films of legendary cryptids. And if one of those films turns 40, well, that’s cause enough for a little celebration.
The now (in)famous Patterson-Gimlin footage of Bigfoot turns the big 4-0 tomorrow, October 20. The film ushered in the modern era of bigfoot-mania, and has been the subject of enthusiasm, scorn, and hoax accusations since it burst onto the cryptozoological scene in 1967. Sure, it may be fake. But what if it’s not? Cool.
