Actually, my understanding is that 'fair use' is much more broad in Canada. Not so much through direct legislation, but a series of loop holes in current statutes.

For example, it is legal for me to copy a CD and post it on a P2P server. It is illegal for someone else to download it.

Most of #3 comes from some pretty reputable sources...if you'd like to throw up a link that backs your stuff up, by all means. I want folks to have access to all the right info.

Decent summary, but I'm afraid you're a little optimistic about the current state of copyright law in Canada. You mention several things under "3" that aren't actually legal here now.
Parody ? "Fair use" in the USA, yes, but not in Canada.
Share copyrighted material with your friends ? Depends on exactly what you mean. As long as no copying is involved, you're fine, but you can't legally burn a copy of a CD and give it to a friend, for example.
Copies for personal use ? Ok for music (well, at least to blank CDs - to a hard-drive is debatable) but nothing else. Not even for back-up.
"Time shifting" ? Nope. Not fair dealing (Yes, that means using your VCR, let alone tivo is actually illegal in Canada).
"Device shifting" ? Another one that's legal in the US but not here.

Many people think that we have the same "fair use" rights here that they enjoy in the US, but it just isn't so.

I tried posting a link to Facebook three times and it doesn't seem to want to upload.

Thanks for the concise overview of what we stand to lose if this draconian change to copyright passes.
