Hackers put Scientology on notice

A group of hackers calling themselves ‘Anonymous’ have decided to take down the Church of Scientology. And they made this announcement in a reasonably epic Internet vid:

That’s pretty badass, if somewhat histrionic. The interesting thing here is that Anonymous isn’t taking exception so much with Scientology’s loopy religious views, but rather their attempt to stifle the release of information through legal action and intimidation, like this past week’s efforts to suppress the now legendary crazy Tom ‘Messiah Complex’ Cruise vid. Lesson to Scientology: bogus copyright claims make the Interwebs angry.
