There can be only one (remake)!

Everyone’s favourite immortals-chopping-eachother’s-heads-off sci-fi/fantasy movie is getting a Batman-esque reboot. Yes, Highlander will be returning to the big screen in a new flick penned by the guys who wrote Iron Man. Pretty awesome. I always dug the concept of the original movies, even if they were so very, very bad. I mean, the original was [...]

Indiana Jones waxes chest for rainforest

Yes, Harrison Ford is asking us to protect the rainforest, since deforestation releases a massive amount of carbon into the atmosphere. Nothing special there- plenty of celebrities are hawking environmental causes these days. But you’ve got to give the man points for originality. He makes his case through the medium of chest-waxing, subjecting his furry [...]

Ted Kennedy has a malignant brain tumor

Not much more to say, really. The tumor was discovered after Kennedy was rushed to hospital after  he suffered a seizure at his Cape Cod home. Sad. Not because I’m a huge fan of the man, but because this kind of news is always tough. Hope it turns out OK for him.

Either way, I think I need to see a [...]

New theatre review: The Eco Show

This entry is cross-posted with blogTO.com. Plays about ‘ideas’ are tempermental beasts. When a playwright hitches his wagon to some kind of a political or social concept, it often ends up as a very boring show. A play that really wants to tell you something about, say, poverty ends up forgetting about all those other [...]
