Actresses: time to panic.
Meet “Emily”. She make look real, and sound real, but brother, she ain’t real. She’s a motion-captured computer animation by Image Metrics:
Somewhere, George Lucas’ head just exploded. To be fair, she doesn’t look completely human. There are a few little ticks here and there, and the face is just slightly off. But if you pretend that’s all the result of aristocratic inbreeding, the illusion is complete. And, you’ve turned her into an aristocrat.

Unfortunately it’s just a CGI of a woman’s face, rendered back on top of the woman’s actual face and body — so all the head and body movements are the real woman’s. I don’t why they would stick her actual face back on her!
Yeah, I was just thinking, that’s some amazing attention to detail, until I realized it was only her face. Meh. Okay.
I like what they did with Beowulf better.
This will forever change the porn industry.
Interesting post!
I just toured Image Metrics as my cousin just started her first 9 – 5 there. I tried to sit down and understand how the technology works, but every question they answered left me with ten more.
Cool to see how scary computers are getting.
