I don’t know. Judging by the conformity of thought I see all over the Internet (even the rage), I’d say the Orwell’s dystopia has more or less come true, in that genuine dissent barely registers.

In fact, this issue is almost a case in point…even Orwell’s warning is no longer understood.

I totally agree. And furthermore, the affected customers were credited and a new copy of <i>1984</i> has been made available (still waiting on <i>Animal Farm</i>, apparently).
