Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said households could begin receiving $600 in direct payments as soon as the beginning of next week as part of the Covid-19 aid deal that is set to be passed by Congress.
“This is a very, very fast way of getting money into the economy,” he said on CNBC on Monday morning.
That would be even faster than the payments that went out during the first round of aid in the spring.
